desktop和1080P TV 的连接

我把desktop和1080P TV连在一起，遇到一个问题，只有1024X768的resolution可用，高了电视不支持，低了图像不清晰，但我用1024X768的resolution时，图像的宽度只有电视屏幕的2/3，有哪位大师知道如何把图像的宽度调宽吗？我用的是vizio1080P 和 dell desktop, window XP.
