从今天开始免费。Nokia的这一举动将会影响整个GPS市场。

Starting today, Nokia is making its navigation service free to all GPS-enabled Nokia devices. Nokia users will be able to download for free the client that enables GPS phones to get Ovi Maps and Navigation, as well as, various city guides on their phones.

This means free turn-by-turn guidance (both driving and pedestrian), traffic, map updates, Lonely Planet services, events guide, Michelin guide and more.

There is great debate as to the quality, features and ease of use between Ovi Maps and Google Maps, but offering this service for free not only will affect handset sales, but standalone GPS sales as well.

Note that, unlike free Google maps apps, these Ovi maps can be downloaded and the GPS used without an internet connection.
