laopop from china can not connect to internet in US

dear all,

my little sister has a new sony laptop from china where she just used a few times. she is now in US and i have problem to make her laptop connect to internet here in US. the OS is windows 7. there is PPPOE proptocol setup for high speed connection. it keeps asking me forusername and password which i do not have. i guess those are the stuff for dsl in china. we use cable here for broadband access and it does not need login.

anyone can help me to solve this problem?
