请教一个home network set up的基本问题，请大家帮忙，谢谢

我有以下硬件，
1。 2个新的desktop（onw with Vista, one with window7),只有USB接口
2。一个旧的打印机，只有parallel接口
3。 wired router, 有四个接口
我想把他们在router里面联成一个home network(2 desktops and the printer),
同时让router把外面可能的attack挡住（我猜想应该是通过router的password)

那位可以教教我怎么连接吗？或者哪里有网站可以告诉我怎么做？
