从3d说起

vbox支持OpenGL and Direct3D 8/9，VMware支持direct3d的一个子集，OpenGL是用软件仿得。这一层就需要选择。

通常我们是用虚拟机的话要求host这一层越薄越好，最好是裸金属。windows做host就薄不了，还要加上防火墙，反病毒等等。虚拟机访问网络带来的病毒还会影响host。

四核的机器run什么虚拟机都不会太慢。关键的瓶颈是存储系统。分配独立的硬盘给虚拟机是方法之一，最好是ssd。 :=）

vbox个人目的使用是免费的，跨多种平台的，最多支持32个cpu。
VMware的话就要使用VMware viewer。坛子上有人发过帖子。
