Do not use PP phone to call google number

I found out that if you use pageplus phone to call a google number, as soon as the phone rings (not go through or go to the voicemail), you will be charged for airtime. I tried this multiple times with several of my PP phones, and everytime my phone was charged. Does anyone here has similar problem?
