dsl or cable modem speed?

Hi,

I am currently using comcast(12m) and heard that dsl (10M) will be much faster, because the bandwidth of dsl is dedicated while cable modem is shared. Not sure whether this is true. Anybody can let me know? Download/Upload comparison?
