Help! IE Search changed!

the Internet Explorer's Search function was maliciously changed to some terrible search engine. whenever I open Search function, it always runs some annoying search engine like www.searchxl.com. sometimes a webpape pops up and covers the whole screen. i'm really annoyed by this stupid thing. Can somebody tell me how to change the Search function back to its orignal one?
