For $10 you can idle your PC for long long time

wondering why anyone would idle the PC for that many hours everyday ... is it so hard to turn off a pc?

I have C2Q, C2D, BE-2400 and X2-5200. BE-2400 has the lowest temp reading, ~11C no load. Doesn't that indicate that less energy is used?
