Unix 问题请教

我买了一个旧的Solaris 8.0 workstation但没有带显示器/键盘/鼠标, 只带来了一根serial cable.在卖主家时曾经见到他用serial cable 和Hyperterminal 从他的WinXP Laptop Logon到这台workstation并且还能上网.因为我只能借用WinXP Laptop 的显示器/键盘/鼠标,回家后我也学用同样的方法从我的WinXP Desktop成功进入workstation的Bourn shell, 可接下来就傻眼了,我该怎样装其它的应用软件,比方说随机带来的GNU,Oracle, starOffice等(我甚至不知道如何从Bourn shell browse CDROM), 又该怎样configure / launch XWindows和Web browser呢? 非常非常感激您的指点和帮助.
