is recommended for AMD CPU. You can find the driver on AMD website. This driver automatically reduces CPU frequency if no load or light load.

Laptop touchpad mouse and keyboard usually require special drivers.

Is the XP disc original? Check if intelppm service is running. If so, kill/remove it in safe mode by deleting intelppm.sys under system32. This service causes some conflict with SP3 update on AMD dual core machine.
