help on outlook express

whenever i start the outlook express, the windows messenger (not msn messenger) will be started automatically. is there any method not to start the messenger when i start outlook express? thanks.

actually, i have uninstalled the messenger in "control panel->add or remove software->change windows components", i don't know why it is still there.
