SPA2102 is relative new. it is designed to by-pass router to avoid some firewall setup that causes problem. So your connection looks ok. but make sure: 1. connect the WAN port to cable modem and LAN port to router. 2. phone is connected to line 1 not line 2 in Linksys adapter. Do not worry about what kind of router issue, I have use a Netgear one for iTalkbb over one year and it has no problem. I have similar problem as you do when my old linksys dead and got a SPA2102 due to phone was plugged into line 2. Also, iTalkbb has several knowledgeable engineer, call them if you have problem.
