回复:slipstream chipset driver into XP CD using nLite

1. Download nLite.
2. Download the chipset driver. If it's nVidia, such as Geforce 6xxx/7xxx + nForce 4xx/5xx, you can download the driver from nVidia website.
3. Extract the driver file on another PC. If it's a self-extract exe file, it will extract into C:\Documents and Settings\Your account\Local Settings\Temp. Copy these files before you continue to install (they may not install at all and installer will automatically delete the files).
4. Run nLite. It will ask where you XP installation files are. Put in your XP CD. Let nLite do all the copying.
5. In nLite, choose slipstream drivers. Point to the driver files you have just copied. Let nLite add the files to the copy of XP installation files.
6. In nLite, choose create bootable CD/DVD. Let nLite create an ISO file for you.
7. Burn the ISO with Nero and MagicISO. Now you have an XP installation CD with the SATA driver.

You may want to slipstream other drivers as well, like video/graphics driver. If the sound device is Realtek HD audio, you may have to install it manually instead of slipstreaming.

I've done this many times. The nVidia chipset is the easiest to deal with. Intel chipset with GMA/Viiv is usually the worst -- very difficult to find on Intel webiste.
