Most likly it is the illumination bulb. Just disassemble the LCD cover (Screws are covered by rubber plugs), you will find the voltage converter (PCB module) and the bulbs (Long tube). You may use hair dryer to heat the PCB module to see if any change. The voltage converter doesn't cost too much ( Be careful the high voltage on the voltage converter output
