Need Help! Thanks!

I spilled water on my laptop keyboard and the poor thing was burnt. I have placed an order for a new one.

My question is, will I be able to transfer the files on from the hard disk of the broken laptop to the new one? How about getting the hard disk out to put it in an external hard disk casing?

Please help with advice. Thank you!_:o
