dial-up modem

Hi folks,

I'd like to use my old laptop TOSHIBA Satellite to access the internet through dial-up modem. The modem is Ethernet & V.92. It seems it is a software modem. The OS is Windows XP.

After I setup the internet connection, there is some error information like this:
Opening port...
Error 633: The modem (or other connecting device) is already in use or is not configured properly.

By the way, I never heard any sound of dialing.

What's wrong? Could you please do me a favor?
