Delete Files From NTFS partition without loading Windows

I have a few files in my XP c:\windows\system32 folder that were identified by AVG as virus/trojan. I tried to delete them and it always failed. I tried safe mode, couldn't delete them. I tried ERD commander 05, it couldn't detect the HD that has my XP installation. that hard drive is 160GB, SATA.

Any other ways to delete those files?
