I need some help here

When I convert a music file from .mp3 to .wma or compress a .mp3 file to reduce the size, the converter doesn't work if the "the input file is copyright protected". If the file is not copyright protected then the converter works just fine.

Can somebody here tell me how to get around with this problem. Thanks very much in advance.
