maybe it's not the mb

based on your story, i don't think either you or the tech guy in the repair store knows what's going on. a black screen could be caused by many reasons. before some simple diagnosis, jump to change the inverter. after replacement of the inverter, jump to the mb and lcd. it's not a logical troubleshooting method.
