Laptop Warranty in China?

I will buy one Laptop for my nephew in China. If I buy from here, is Warranty valid in China? Is it easy to get service? Any experience to share? I plan to shop around Dell, HP or Toshiba. Which one is good? Budget is about $800. HP with 2GB of DDR2, 160 GB of Hard drive is almost the same price as Dell with 1GB of DDr2, 120 GB of hard drive.
Which brand is more popular in China? My nephew likes Dell. Is Dell more popular then HP in China? Thanks for your suggestions.
