how to clean up this problem?

Hi,

Anyone knows how to identify and kill/delete those software that have been downloaded to your computer without your knowledge? I believe my computer is having such kind of problem because there are consistently advertisement windows pop up to my cover my screen even when I am just working on my computer without browsing any web page. Anyone please help me?
