Holography would be the next big storage.

For HDD several TB is there, just not cheap enough for us.

BTW, the way of thinking FDD/CD is too old is dangerous. I use FDD on monthly basis: to run Ghost. Depends on what you want to do, why I have to follow the tech hype to buy blue ray? I stocked up tons of VHS just recently! FYI, one VHS can store several TB of data and was used 10 years ago for backups!

another example, the best and most efficient way of running things on computer is still and ... guess what, DOS prompt!
