I have similiar problem with my DELL Inspiron 4500.

Usually I can get stable display by bending my monitor a little bit. I guess it is not problem of display card but some contact problems at the back side of my LCD.

I have done the same thing as you did - clean mother board etc, but have not tried open LCD monitor. I will do that and also recommend you do this, if you have not.
