help please. computer does not start.

my computer does not start after I turn on the power. screen is black and computer fan is running at highspeed. what could be the problem? help please. it is a Gateway 825GM 8 months old. not use often (about once a week) not linked to internet either.
it is under warrantee. but i have to send it to somewhere.
