VC++ question, please help

I got several c++ codes, a makefile, and the related library. I use Microsoft VC++ 6 as a compiling platform. The compiling process goes well. and the executable files work well too.

Now, I want to test the codes in debugging mode because I am not sure how good the c++ code is. I tried the following procedures: build-> (go, step in, step over, ...), but I got error massages.

I did not touch any setting, why I can not run the codes in bugging mode? Please help.
