无线网络如何防止被盗用，如何察看到？如何加密？

我家cable上网，一台机连着router,白天速度还可以，晚上即使一台机上网的速度极慢，朋友说可能网络被别人盗用了，请教如何防止被盗用，如何察看到？如何加密？
