Which one is better? SONY HDR-HC3 or Panasonic PV-GS500?

I am looking for a digital camcorder. Right now I have two candidates, Sony HDR-HC3 and Panasonic PV-GS500. Sony HDR-HC3 can take high definition picture, but I do not like its tough screen menu. Panasonic PV-GS500 has joystick menu control, but its picture quality is not as good as Sony. I do not mind the price difference between Sony and Panasonic. Is tough screen menu control a problem from long term point of view? Any suggestion is welcomed. Thanks.
