How disable Java VM Plug-in

I tried to use a security website. When I tried to use it, it told me that I must disable Java VM Plug-in. After I disabled Java VM, it said I must enable Java VM to use the website. I really do not what is going on. I use Windows 2000 with IE 6.0. Everything was okay when I used a different PC with IE 5.5. By the way I intalled Java 1.3 on my computer. Can anyone give me some help? Thank u.
