are you running pure Linux or VMWare over Win?

I tend to use wireless for the box, but seems it only support regular NIC. Also, which version you feel is the best? Trixbox 1.0 or Asterisk@Home 2.8? or they simply the same? Additionally, what kind of hardware you use to interface old phone system and VOIP? The documents I got from web are not quite clear. Thanks in advance for any advice!
