请问:甚至不能启动safe mode

Toshiba satellite L25 with Win XP. My daughter used adware to clean her toshiba notebook, then she got problem with starting computer. I did system restore, showing some new hardware and some dll? file missing. Since I didn't know how to get safe mode initially, I manually turned off and turn on the computer about 5-6 time, finally I used F8 to get safe mode, but couldn't start it with message like "window stopped to avoid damage". Then I tried toshiba recovery disc, it would erase everything my daughter needs. What's wrong with the machine? How can we get the data? We are very bad at computer. Please help. Thanks!
