HELP! MY LAPTOP DEAD

Several days ago, my laptop goto freeze. After that, it would to to freeze quicker and quicker, now if I power on the laptop, nothing shown-up on the screen.
My laptop is Sony Model PCG-8L1L.
Are there anyway to fix this?
If not or too expansive, is it possible to back-up the hard-disk, I have a lot of pictures in it. Please let me know how.
