If you use dial-up at home, you need to know user name and passwd which ISP give to you, and the right number you dial to.
If you use Lan goto internet, you have two choices, one is turn on DHCP, get IP address by system it-self, or if you use proxy server, need to know the Gateway and Port.
do not know what you use .
windows2000 is a good OS. If you still have problem can goto Microsoft knowlage base to check.
