relocate to CA

We currently live in Mid west. My daughter will be senior next year. Currently she is the #1 at her high school. My hu*****and is offered a job in San Jose CA. I know it is not good for a senior student to relocate. But how bad really it is? Also please advice me which is high school is good at San Jose area?
