Adjuster told me "if they can't serve you, they can't sever you?

Since I'm not at home from 9am to 7-8pm, the sheriff leave a card w/ phone number at my door. I asked my adjuster, it seemed he hoped they could not find me.

Can I just ignor the card? What they will do next? find me in school, mail the summon to me or post on newspaper?
