i am handling auto claim. it depends on which state you make claim. if it is no-fault state, you have to go to your own insurance company for all your medical bill, but you could go to at-fault party's insurance for your auto damage. if it is not no-fault state, you could go to another insurance for everything. your rate should not raise. it is always raised when you own company pays your collision damage.
