请问怎样的孩子入选full ride “merit” scholarships?

我了解T5是没有全奖的，只有助学金。可是后面的T50的colleges/universities or LACs 有一些是给full ride merit scholarship, 但是中奖率低到比进T5还要难好多级。有的是每个高中只能提名一个学生，然后再一级一级的卷，也有的是直接从上万申请人里面直接圈~100 左右的finalists。其实能入围finalists就非常难了，而大部分finalists最终也是陪跑。请问有人了解能拿到这种全奖的学生画像吗？虽然说不看家庭资产，但是不是也是holistic or DEI 的筛选呢？谢谢！
