I shared my son's experience in "高中信息交流" last year. In short, my son participated in several US National math and science subject Olympiad competitions and was ranked one of the top students in different subjects throughout 4 years of high school. This background helped him to get into Harvard in early admission. Check your high school for this type of national competitions.
