上周末，见到我表姐的小孩

他在国内拿了硕士后在外企做了一年， 电脑晶片，3年前来美，花了一年时间，拿了个ee硕士，毕业前在加州一家大公司找到一份工作，最近买了60-70万的房子。我问他来美感觉如何？他笑着说，他上海以前的同事，最近工资涨得很快，年薪都有5-6万美金。

I did  not know how to interprete his response. I was the one who arranged his admission to his graduate program here and who strongly encouraged him to stay here. 

真是三十年河东，三十年河西。30年前的留学生，一有正式工作，收人是国内以前同事的30多倍，现在，也就2-3 倍了。
