出国确实与民主无关，不过民主是全人类所共同追求的。

因为这是人的本性，也是人类最后要走的一步。只要人类不毁灭，终究会慢慢向这个方向发展。只是一个时间长短的问题。

我一直不赞成中国现在就民主，不是因为民主不好，而是因为中国人的人性扭曲时间太长了，没有民主所要求的素质。但是中国并非永远就不能民主，再过几朝几代，经过生产力生产关系的变革，中国最后也会走这一步，只是时间长短的问题。

民主并不是选个总统这么简单，民主一定要渗透于社会的方方面面，最重要的是公民素质。民主社会的公民，要有遵从法律的精神，遵守社会公约的精神，尊重他人人格的精神。民主国家的共同特点就是自由、宽松，人相对友善，这是大家相互尊重的结果。不要小看这个相互尊重，有的国家发展几千年了，还是无法做到。

民主是个进程，人类发展到今天，民主的时间并不长，它还要持续发展，自我完善。美国是民主国家，这没错；美国有不民主的方面，这也没错；美国从奴隶制到今天，时间并不长，它还要继续自我完善和发展。其他的民主国家也是一样。
