Action is louder than words. It's not important what you claim but what you do. Imperial Japan obviously had no interest of "皇道乐土", but occupying land and resource, so whatever they claimed was mute. They should be punished as war criminals.
You can always argue for the sake of argument, but in reality, let's say if you are at the receiving end of 家暴，and have been miserable, trust me, you will welcome all kinds of help, as long as they don't actually harm you even more. Then, you wouldn't give a rat a$$ about what race, nationality, gender, or belief, those helpers are/hold.
