I have been living here for over 6 years.
I work in Sacramento and have a home in San Jose so I commute home on the weekend.
When I first moved here, it was not a bad place, it was quite and clean.
However, over the past three years this place has gone to the dumps there are thugs and unruly people everywhere.
I have prevented two car break-ins by scaring these thugs away.
While I was home on thanksgiving weekend, someone decided to break into my apartment.
They trashed my place stole all my items and even took my law enforcement (LE) vehicle to include my equipment.
I m sure they had been watching me for a while because they did not take items that contained my identification.
Thank god, I had my weapon with me.
I reported it to the management who took approximately 4 days to replace my window (a simple piece of glass).
So for 4 days I had to endure a piece of plywood over my window.
You can believe I slept with my gun every night for fear of someone coming back and have been ever since.
I made a pack with ny neighbors to watch out for each others things until I can move which is going to be soon.
After reporting the break in, the management could give a dam that an apartment was broken into, let alone a LE officer s apartment.
This was evident by the length of time they took to replace my window.
The bad thing about this whole deal is my front door and sliding glass door was open wide for who knows how long, along with a big whole in my window.
At no time did anyone even noticing it.
I live right behind the pool in an open area.
One reason they were able to get in with out detection is because both the flood light on the buildings were out.
I cant believe that no one heard the glass breaking.
I had already complained about this months before when my daughter came to visit and called me to come outside because she was to scared to get out of her car in the dark.
The one positive thing about this whole experience is there are several ladies that work in the office that have been very kind and understanding over the years.
