I like the US system dealing with dual citizenship. You have to present US passport upon departing and arriving US. Whether you use US passport to enter other countries is purely up to you. However, you will lose so called consulative assistanence if not using US passport to enter foreign countries from US Consulates if you are in legal trouble in foreign countries.

Additionally, if you decide to use you non-US passport to enter US, you are effectively giving up your US citizenship.
