We should try to help honeybird rather than making her fell bad.

I married a blue-eyed, blond-haired American who has Chinese ancester (great grandfather). Though he is curious about Chinese culture and Chinese people, he never want to move to China at all. I don't think that's the reason to criticize anyone who wants to stay within the place and culture he grew up with.

My own experience is that money is not the biggest threat to love. When you don't have much money/job, you are fighting together which makes the two of you closer. Once money is not a problem any more, every other issue/problem shows up. If you have doubts or reservation about your future together, then don't rush to get married because all the compatibility issues you have now are not going to go away. They'll only get amplified down the road. Because of cultural and background differences, it'll require much more work and patience to make your marriage work. I hope my advice will offer a little help to you. Best wishes!
