I am from a big city in China and proud of my origin

My parents are not super rich or powerful, but they both have college degrees from reputable shcools and have respectful jobs in a majory city (a capital province), and we had an okay life in China. I have a very big family in China and the most loving, unselfish parents one can ever ask for. I graduated from a key kindergarden, key middle school (where all the provicial and city government officials' kids went) and a key undergrad school. Fair to say, I had quite happy childhood. My exp in China turne sour after I graduated from college. I got a job in a very prosperus city, at the time many in my underd school admired. I was hit on by many married men at work, including my client/boss. I know a government official who was high up in the central gov. raped a girl and got away with it (he threatens that the police chief was his buddy and they go to whore houses together, and she will never get any justice.) I was not happy there before I left for US. Anyway that is off the point here.

I wrote in the initial post that he is born and raised in north America, aka, a CBC. He may not be proud of his Chinese roots even though he denies it. He was never exposed to any of the brilliance China has to offer.
- Unlike when we grew up that we were repeatively told that China is the greatest place to be, and the communist party is the best governor in the world.
- No one in his family ever said anything good about China (they went from China to HK before 1949, then to the US).
- We have all been to the great wall, forbidden palace, and many historic sites of China, and felt proud about our history and culture and even wrote 作文 for it and he has not.
- When he was little, all chinese worked in restaurant or laundry. His mother, who graduated from a US college, could not find any job but a Chinese-owned stores.

After all, he does not feel he is Chinese at all nor does he have any desire to be one. I am not a phsychologist to explain why, but his environment and experience made the person he is.
