Speaking of job security, I think it's probably safer in US.

Simply due to the demand and overall rating. In China, more opportunity for advance comes with more competition and less security. Pay is not on par with US, if you work for a local company.

In fact, middle management is not very secure anywhere, while technical guru are a lot easier to jump ships.
