Let me put more detail in the question. Let's say I need to maintain a house (maybe 2000 ft2, I can't imagine getting a 4000 ft2 one in Shanghai), two cars (SUV/van), children getting into good schools, eat well, dress well. How much do I need to make per year or month to cover all these expenses?
