Job Description: |
The power distribution and transmission engineer job includes the following responsibilities: (i) designs electrical engineering systems and equipment; (ii) studies operating requirements for electric power distribution and transmission equipment; (iii) consults with specialised electrical engineers, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, physicists and industrial designers; (iv) advises clients and employer on power transmission matters; (v) supervises installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment [9].
The chemical engineer job includes the following responsibilities: (i) researches on new chemical engineering problems and processes of matter; (ii) studies existing processes used and their production levels; (iii) supervises construction and installation of plant and equipment; (iv) advises clients and employer on chemical engineering matters; (v) carries out operational research relating to quality technique; [9].

Methodology: |
Unless otherwise indicated, the gross income is obtained from data provided to the International Labour Organization [9] by government agencies (Statistics Canada, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Statistics Finland, etc). The compulsory deductions include income tax, municipal tax, provincial/state income tax, social security (pension plan, medicare), compulsory additional insurance, etc. The deductions are representative of single-earner-married-without-child status, and are obtained from income tax calculators [t], social security withholdings, the OECD Tax Database [k], or other sources. Employees include both men and women unless otherwise noted. |
