2005 Porsche 911

The next-generation Porsche 911 will debut in the second half of 2004 as a 2005 model, offered in 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S versions. The design is an evolution of the current 911 and retains the silhouette of the original 911 from more than 40 years ago. The new design features the return of oval headlights that are more upright than the current model, with separate turn signals in the bumper. The Carrera will be powered by a 325-horsepower 3.6-liter horizontally-opposed 6-cylinder engine, while the Carrera S will receive a 355-horsepower 3.8-liter horizontally-opposed 6-cylinder unit. Both cars will receive a new 6-speed manual transmission.
