For your safety, don't use lead solder please.

Lead has apeculiar property: sublimation. It releases lead into air without being liquified. Even you don't use it it releases vapor. 

Use a transformer-type solder iron, if you need high powered solder iron. Weller has 100 W to 325 W solder irons of this type.
